My Philosophy of Education

The foundation of my philosophy of education is built on the desire to provide equitable access to quality education for all students. As a school leader, one of the most crucial aspects of this is to ensure that I provide and sustain an environment in which both teachers and students thrive. Leadership is not about authority but rather service and a commitment to seeing all people succeed.

My Journey

During the course of my journey as a new school leader and as a student in the Principal Licensure Program at CSU Global, I have deepened my understanding of what it means to lead with purpose. Indeed, I have seen that strong leadership begins with strong relationships built on trust, respect, and open lines of communication. A school culture is at its strongest when all voices are heard and decision-making occurs through a collaborative process.

My Role

I strive to support and encourage teachers through weekly professional development as well as regular cycles of observation and feedback. Equity and inclusion are central to my vision of leadership and I will always strive to confront and maintain equitable systems that dismantle barriers and advocate for the needs of both staff and students.

Finally, leadership is a continuous journey of knowledge and reflection. I continue to reflect and seek feedback on key decisions and systems within my school to ensure that we are best meeting the needs of every person who enters our school.
